Walking as One

The Father, Son and Holy Ghost, are three but are really one. As unmarried individuals, a man and a woman are one with the Lord, when they allow Him to be Lord of their life. A christian woman is first married to the Lord in spirit. Isaiah 54:5 reveals that God, as her Maker is her husband. The scriptures in Revelations also indicates that God has a prepared place for the woman, a secret place if you will. Revelation 12:6 NKJV reads …”Then the woman fled into the wilderness, where she has a place prepared by God, that they should feed her there one thousand two hundred and sixty days.” God as her first husband meets all of her needs, protects, provides and guides. A woman who lives under the authority of Jesus Christ is therefore hidden in Him. As she matures, she realizes that her expectation is of Him and not of “hu~mans”. Flesh fails, but God never fails, he does not sleep, slumber, forget, lie, or disappoint. With that said, the woman who is hidden in the Lord, her redeemer King Jesus, can live and trust that He will take care of her needs. When a christian man seeks a christian wife, he finds her one with Christ.

Proverbs 31:10 “Who can find a virtuous wife? For her worth is far above rubies.” Proverbs 31:10-31 is a blueprint for women to follow as they mature in the Lord. Not only to become a virtuous wife, but to continually become a virtuous woman. A woman who is doing her self work ~ meek, not weak. Strong in her Faith in God and her ability to be a help and a blessing at every stage of her life no matter what she seeks to do. When she shows up, help has arrived as she can, as the old saying goes, make the bread, bring it home and cook it. She ensures everyone connected to her purpose is nourished, and taken care of with an element of grace and love, with an attitude of servant leadership. As I stated earlier, the woman is hidden in Christ, and a man who seeks a Godly woman should be an equal yoke. Amos 3:3 asks how can two walk together unless they agree. It is easier for a woman to submit to the headship of a man’s leadership if that man is submitted to the headship and leadership of Jesus Christ.

Proverbs 18:22 indicates “He who finds a wife finds a good thing, And obtains favor from the Lord.” When a man seeks a wife, he should be in his proper place in Christ. Only then can a woman safely trust her heart within his and come out of her secret place. When that man asks for her hand in marriage, she walks out of her secret place, into her husbands heart and arms, trusting him to cover, protect, provide, love, cherish lead and guide her, as Christ does them both. Man, woman and Jesus Christ ~ a three fold cord is not easily broken. Jesus is the head of man, so when a man is in his proper place, under the authority of the Lord, a woman is more apt to safely trust him with her submissive heart. Woman walks into Christ, hidden, then into man hidden becoming one with Christ and man, a faith walk reflective of Christ’s love for the church.
